Armadale Tree House is located within a Heritage Precinct of a highly intact Interwar streetscape. The handsome freestanding homes are set within lush landscapes rich in natural materials. The main driver for our site planning as well as for the plan of the house was an existing mature Pin oak tree. It is a towering specimen which is admired from many aspects within the house and garden.
The materials of the Armadale Tree House responds to some of the heritage Old English Tudor homes nearby. It uses red-brown elongated bricks, bronze coloured metals, grey timbers, and slate dual hipped roof. A brick arch echoes the past. The intricacy of the detailing continues inside the house but in a brighter palette of white perforated metal and white painted timber battens. This is a well-used warm family home of great Architectural, Interior Design and Landscape Design sensitivity.
