Kew Golf Club commissioned Inarc Architects to design a new footbridge that crosses a billabong at the fourth green. The existing timber bridge sitting on large timber logs without balustrades was no longer safe. Inarc designed the bridge to blend in with the native riverine context of the fourth green billabong whilst being a distinctive form in the landscape. In response, the balusters were detailed and drawn to have a sense of transparency and delicateness, responding to gentle arcs of the surrounding tree branches. The bridge colour was influenced by the subdued palette of the native tree trunks and ducks that reside within the billabong.
